Masters of the Universe(ity)

Thank you all so much for your lovely comments on the Ciara Shrug.  I'm working on the pattern right now so that there are multiple sizes.  One thing that you can’t tell from the picture is that it is very soft.  Zarina is a great yarn.  I’ve been thinking about making one for myself, but that will have to wait until I get a job and start getting paid.  On Monday, my job hunt led me to

.  For those of you who don’t know where

Oakville

is, let me just say that it is very far from my apartment -  like an hour and a half commute each way.  Somehow I don’t think I would be a very pleasant person after being on public transit that long.  The other two positions I’m being considered for are within biking distance.  I should know this week if I’m employed – finally! 

One good thing about commuting though is that I could knit.  Right now I’m working on a herringbone stitch scarf in a Manos colourway that is actually not the same as Jae’s.  Sorry, Jae, we won't be scarf sisters, afterall!  In fact, even though the balls are supposed to be the same colourway, they don’t look the same at all.

                      

I’ve been alternating the balls every two rows and it looks ok so far.  This is the yarn that my little brother gave me for Christmas.  Isn’t it purdy?

About 10 grad students left their labs to celebrate with her at 1 pm on a Monday.  When I called them after my interview at 6:30, they were STILL THERE!  And to think I’m giving up that life to collect a pay cheque…
